Westcon Group’s Global Procurement Initiative Projects International Presence for Resellers with over 10,000 Multi-National Orders

TARRYTOWN, NY, September 25, 2007 - Westcon Group, Inc.™, the leading specialty distributor in networking, convergence, security, and mobility, announced that it has developed an international procurement capability on behalf of its multinational-based customer community. Westcon Group, which has operations in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, has unique IT, logistics and processes in place to handle complex multinational rollouts and has already processed over 10,000 orders in 73 countries so far this year.  Westcon Group has developed initiatives with Avaya and Cisco, two of its foundation vendors, to remove logistical obstacles for resellers seeking international business opportunities. The Global Business Program’s goal is to help them navigate through what can often be difficult terrain: differing channel practices, diverse currency, tax and pricing models, widely varying support options and diverse vendor reporting obligations.

Westcon Group’s multinational procurement infrastructure was originally built as a global help desk to service the distributor’s larger global service provider customers. However, it soon became clear that this infrastructure would be an effective means to centralize the entire procurement and fulfillment process for multinational sales projects.
